All in one microwave cooking bowl set recipes
Rice
To cook rice in the microwave, you will want to use a 1:2 ratio of rice to water (eg 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water). To begin, place your raw rice into the bowl. Pour cool water into the bowl and swish the rice around to wash it. Drain the water using the strainer lid. Repeat this process 3 times more. The water should come out less cloudy each time. Once the last of the water is strained, pour in cool water and place the lid onto the bowl with the strainer open to vent. Microwave for 5 minutes on high, then for 15 minutes on 50% power. Remove from the microwave and let rest for 5 minutes, making sure to keep the lid on. Remove the lid, fluff, and serve!
Pasta
Add ½ cup noodles, 1 cup water, and a pinch of salt to the bowl. Add 2 minutes to however long the pasta takes to cook in boiling water. For example, if the pasta shape you are using cooks in 8 minutes in boiling water on the stovetop, it will take 10 minutes in the microwave. Check the pasta halfway and stir to ensure it does not clump together. Once complete, remove from the microwave and strain out any excess water. Toss in your favorite sauce and enjoy!
Potatoes
Place 8oz of baby potatoes into the bowl and rinse with cool water. Strain excess water out using the strainer lid. Place the lid onto the bowl while the potato’s skin is still wet. Ensure the strainer is open to vent. Place in the microwave for 6 minutes, or until fork tender. Toss in your favorite herbs and butter or use the cooked potatoes for a quick potato salad!

Vanilla Cake
Ingredients:
-
6 Tbsp butter, melted
-
½ cup sugar
-
¼ cup sour cream, room temperature
-
¾ cup milk, room temperature
-
1 cup + 2 Tbsp flour
-
2 tsp baking powder
-
Splash of vanilla extract
-
Pinch of salt
-
In a medium mixing bowl, place butter, sugar, sour cream, milk, flour, baking powder, vanilla, and salt. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
-
Grease the inside of your 5-cup cooking dish. Transfer batter into the dish, and place in the microwave, uncovered for 5 minutes. A toothpick inserted should come out clean. If batter can be seen on the toothpick, place the cake into the microwave for 1-minute increments until the inside is cooked.
-
Once the cake is cooled inside the cooking dish, flip it over to release it from the dish. Use a cake server or butter knife to gently remove the cake form the walls, if necessary. If frosting, ensure the cake is completely cooled before doing so.
Tips: Add ¼ cup cocoa powder to make a chocolate cake. Chocolate chips, sprinkles, nuts, and berries are also delicious inclusions to add.
